While, graduates from both, accredited and approved schools, are able to become licensed and/or certified in CA state, accredited schools receive federal financial aid, while approved schools do not.
School of Holistic Touch is an approved school.

Licensing is granted to an individual by a city, while certification is granted by the state (CAMTC - California Massage Therapy Council).  CAMTC certification allows a therapist to work throughout California with much more ease, since CAMTC certification supersedes city licensing requirements. A CAMTC certified therapist can obtain a city license without going through that city's test(s). Some CA cities sinply require CAMTC certification in order to obtain a license. While both options allow a therapist to legally work, in many cases, they both have very specific requirements (usually in the form of educational hours and tests).

SoHT students pay as they attend. When a students starts a class, they pay for that individual class. Students are not required to pay for an entire program upfront. For specific class prices, please reference our page "Programs and CEUs".

SoHT students are able to take as many or few classes as they like. Once they've decided which classes they'd like to attend, they're able to reference our set class schedule, and plan accordingly.

The transferability of credits you earn at School of Holistic Touch is at the complete discretion of an institution to which you may seek to transfer.  Acceptance of the certificates you earn in the Massage Therapist or Holistic Health Practitioner program is also at the complete discretion of the institution to which you may seek to transfer.  If the certificates you earn at this institution is not accepted at the institution to which you seek to transfer, you may be required to repeat some or all of your coursework at that institution.  For this reason you should make certain that your attendance at this institution will meet your educational goals.  This may include contacting an institution to which you may seek to transfer after attending School of Holistic Touch to determine if your certificate will transfer.

The School of Holistic Touch does not offer any awards of credit for prior experiential learning. Transfer of class hours from other massage schools may be accepted at director’s discretion and only from CAMTC and BPPE approved schools.

School of Holistic Touch has not entered into an articulation or transfer agreement with
any other college or university.

SoHT offers many classes, which CAN make up (a) program(s). Our students are not required to complete any set amount of classes or programs.

Students are able to pick and choose which classes they'd like to attend, then reference our schedule to decide when they would like to attend each class. Since our students have the flexibility and freedom of making their own schedules, the amount of time it would take to complete a program completely depends on the schedule a student makes. Since each of our classes has a designated amount of class time, and will be offered multiple times each year, and at different times (morning, evening, weekends), the amount of days/weeks the class(s) will take to complete will vary.
